Water sits in the same low spot every time it rains. A French drain moves that water somewhere else. We install French drains and underground downspout extensions for homes around Chattanooga. The work is residential scale: yards, foundations, and the low ground where water collects.
Red clay soil holds water instead of taking it in. The Chattanooga area gets more than 50 inches of rain in a normal year. Yards below a ridge catch runoff from higher ground on top of that. A flat spot in the lawn can stay soggy for days.
Yard drainage solutions look different on every lot. We come out and look at where the water starts and where it can go. Then we set the drain line and the outlet to fit the property. Estimates are free, and you can call or text.

The clues show up right after a hard rain. Water stands in the same low spot for days. One part of the lawn stays soft while the rest dries out. Mowing that area tears up grass and leaves ruts.
Water moving toward the house is the bigger worry. Downspouts that empty at the wall put a lot of roof water in one place. The soil beside the foundation stays soaked. Mulch and gravel wash out of the beds in every storm.
Runoff crosses drives and paths too. A wet lane ruts out fast, so gravel driveway repair and drainage often get handled on the same visit. Standing water also brings mosquitoes and kills off the grass.
We install French drains, underground downspout drain extensions, and buried drainage pipe. A French drain is a gravel trench with perforated pipe in the bottom. Water works down through the stone, enters the pipe, and runs out to a lower spot.
A French drain installation runs about the same way each time. We mark the line, then cut a trench that falls steadily toward the outlet. Pipe goes in, washed gravel goes around it, and filter fabric keeps soil out of the stone. Then we backfill, smooth the ground back down, and haul the extra dirt off.
Downspout drainage is the other half of most jobs. We tie the existing downspout into a solid pipe that carries roof water away from the house. Our mini skid steer fits through a standard fence gate, so back yard lines are no trouble. If growth sits on the route, brush clearing can be added to the same visit.
Length is the biggest factor. A short run off one downspout is a different job than a drain across the whole back yard. Depth counts too, because a deeper trench moves more dirt.
Where the water can go matters as much as where it starts. A sloped lot with a clear outlet is simple work. A flat lot with no low ground takes more planning. Roots, rock, and buried utility lines can slow a trench down.
Access is the last piece, since an open side yard goes quicker than a tight space behind a fence. We give a free estimate after seeing the yard, and we cover the towns around Chattanooga. Three Crosses Land Services is a veteran-owned family business that works by Faith. Integrity. Service.

Reach us at (423) 260-5675 with what you need done and where the property sits. Photos of the growth help us size up the job.
We come out, look at the growth and how equipment gets in, then give you a price. The number tracks how thick the growth is and how much ground it covers.
You approve the price and we put the job on the schedule. We confirm the day ahead of time so you know when the machine is coming.
The mini skid steer comes in through the gate and the mulcher goes over the growth. Bigger stems come down first, then get ground into chips.
The chips get spread level across the cleared ground. What is left is open space you can mow, fence, or use for whatever comes next.

Our mini skid steer fits through a standard fence gate. Backyards, side yards, fence lines, and lots hemmed in by buildings are workable ground for us. The fence stays where it is.
We are licensed and insured. That matters when a mulcher head is running near your fence, your driveway, and the trees you want left standing. Ask and we will send the paperwork.
Estimates cost nothing. We come look at the property and tell you what the work takes. Then you get a price for that job before anything is scheduled. You decide from there.
