Land Services for Ringgold Homes, Yards and Acreage

Three Crosses Land Services handles forestry mulching and land clearing in Ringgold, Georgia. We are based just north of Chattanooga, Tennessee, about 30 miles north of Catoosa County. Northwest Georgia sits inside our normal service area, and we cross the line for it regularly. Ringgold work runs alongside our Tennessee jobs most weeks.

Forestry mulching grinds brush, saplings, and small trees into mulch right where they stand. The material stays on site and settles into a mulch layer over the dirt. That layer holds soil in place on Catoosa County ridge sides and creek banks. It also slows how fast the ground grows back over a hot Georgia summer.

Our mini skid steer fits through a standard fence gate. That opens up back lots, side yards, and fenced pasture that bigger machines cannot reach. A lot of Ringgold property has the overgrown part behind the house, past a gate. Estimates are free, so call or text and we will set a time to come look.

Catoosa County ground, ridge to creek bottom

Ringgold sits in the Valley and Ridge country of Northwest Georgia. White Oak Mountain starts on the north side of Ringgold Gap, just east of downtown. Taylors Ridge runs south out of that same gap, and I-75 cuts across the south end of town. The town floor sits near 780 feet, and the ridge tops climb past 1,400 feet.

Between the ridges you get long valleys, red clay soil, and steep wooded shoulders. South Chickamauga Creek runs through town and crosses into Tennessee at East Ridge. Tiger Creek drains the valleys east of the ridge line, and Peavine Creek drains Peavine Valley. Ringgold takes close to 50 inches of rain a year, so creek bottoms hold water and brush.

Catoosa County keeps about 7,000 acres in pasture, most of it on small farms. Fence rows and field edges grow up in Chinese privet, brambles, and volunteer saplings. Privet ranks as the worst woody invader in Georgia forests, and birds seed it right along fences. The county is near 70,000 people now, and new houses keep landing on old pasture and wood lots.

The clearing work on Ringgold property

Most Ringgold calls sound alike when they come in. A back acre, a grown-in lot line, or the slope behind the house has gotten too thick to use. Forestry mulching takes that down to a mulched floor in one pass. Saplings, briars, privet, and kudzu vine go through the drum and stay on the ground as mulch.

Heavier jobs move into land clearing at residential scale. That is opening the back half of a home site, or cleaning up an overgrown lot in town. Open pasture and old hay ground call for a rotary cutter instead of a mulcher. That work is bush hogging, and it keeps a Catoosa County field from going back to woods.

Grown-up boundary lines are their own job around here. Fence line clearing opens a property line so a fence can be seen, repaired, or rebuilt. Right of way and easement clearing fall under the same work. When trees come out of open ground, stump grinding drops the stumps below grade so you can mow over them.

Georgia coverage from just north of Chattanooga

Our base sits just north of Chattanooga, and Ringgold is roughly a 35 minute drive from us. Catoosa County gets covered the same way our Tennessee towns do. Boynton, Graysville, Catoosa Springs, Wood Station, Keith, and Poplar Springs all sit inside our range. So do Indian Springs, Pleasant Grove, and the Tunnel Hill side of the county.

Estimates on Ringgold property are free, and we come out and look at the ground in person. Photos give us a start, but slope, tree size, and how wet the bottom sits decide the plan. We check gate width and the way in, since the machine has to get back there. Then you get a price and a read on how long the job takes.

Three Crosses Land Services is a veteran-owned family business, licensed and insured. Faith. Integrity. Service. That motto is the standard we hold on a Ringgold job. Call or text us and we will get a time set to come look at it.

Ringgold FAQ

Questions From Ringgold Property Owners

A few of the questions we hear most around Ringgold. If yours is not here, call or text and ask.

Call (423) 260-5675

Do you work in Georgia, or just Tennessee?
Both. Northwest Georgia is part of our normal service area, and Ringgold is a regular stop. We are based just north of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Ringgold is a short drive south for us. Fort Oglethorpe, Trenton, and the smaller Catoosa County communities get the same coverage. Georgia jobs get priced and scheduled the same as Tennessee jobs.
How long does clearing take on a Ringgold lot?
It depends on what is standing there. Light brush and briars move fast. Thick saplings, heavy privet, and steep ridge ground go slower. Wet creek bottom soil off South Chickamauga Creek slows a machine down too. We give you a read on timing when we come look at the property.
Can you get into a fenced backyard in Ringgold?
Usually yes. Our mini skid steer fits through a standard fence gate. That gets us into back lots, side yards, and fenced pasture on Catoosa County property. We check gate width and the path in before the job starts. Tight access is one of the things this machine is built for.
Will you take down a tree that is close to my house?
That close quarters work is not what we take on. Our lane is trees and shrubs in the open parts of a property. Small and mid-size trees, overgrown ornamentals, and brushy tree lines all fit. A grown-up fence row on Catoosa County pasture is right in that lane. A tree leaning over a roof needs a climbing tree crew with rigging.
What decides the price on a Ringgold clearing job?
Mostly size, how thick the growth is, and how easy the access is. A flat back lot in town with light brush prices out different than a steep ridge side packed with privet. Wet ground along a creek bottom can add time. Estimates are free, so we come look at the property and give you a number before anything starts.
