Forestry mulching in Rossville, GA, uses a drum mulcher to cut brush and small trees down to chips on site. Those chips are left on the lot as a mulch layer. That matters in Walker County, where state rules ban burning a land-clearing pile in every month.
Rossville sits just over the state line from Chattanooga, in a valley between two ridges. Left alone for a few seasons, a back corner or an empty lot fills with briars and saplings. We take that growth down and give you back ground you can use.
Three Crosses Land Services, based just north of Chattanooga, covers all of Rossville and its 30741 ZIP code. Land clearing, underbrushing, brush hauling and stump grinding round out the work. To book a free estimate, call or text.

Rossville takes its name from Cherokee Chief John Ross. Ross lived there until he was forced west on the Trail of Tears. The John Ross House, a log cabin, was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1973.
A post office has operated at Rossville since 1817, and the city incorporated in 1905. It is part of the Chattanooga metro area, and only the state line separates the two cities. Fort Oglethorpe and the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park lie across Missionary Ridge to the southeast.
The 2020 census counted 3,980 people on the city's 1.8 square miles. That is about 2,200 people per square mile, so homes and yards sit fairly close together. Missionary Ridge rises to the east and Lookout Mountain to the west, with Rossville in the valley between them. Lots on the valley floor sit mostly flat, and the ground climbs toward the ridges.
Walker County is on both open burning lists from Georgia's Environmental Protection Division. The summer ban stops land-clearing burns there from May 1 through September 30. A second rule, for counties over 65,000 people in the 2010 Census, bans them October 1 through April 30. The one legal burn left is an air curtain destructor, with a Georgia Forestry Commission permit, October to April.
That is why forestry mulching fits Rossville lots. The brush turns to chips on the spot, so the burn calendar never holds up the work. When a whole lot is thick with brush and saplings, land clearing opens it up from fence to fence. On a wooded lot, underbrushing grinds out the briars and vines and leaves the big trees standing.
The City of Rossville picks up yard trimmings on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. That pickup handles everyday trimmings, but clearing an overgrown lot is a different job. When cut limbs or old brush piles need to leave, brush hauling puts them on our dump trailer. Leftover stumps go below the surface with stump grinding, and we can topsoil the spot for seed.
Our home base is just north of Chattanooga, where US 27 is the main highway. It runs south through Chattanooga and on to Rossville and Fort Oglethorpe. East Ridge, on the Tennessee side of the state line, sits inside the same coverage.
Each free estimate happens on the lot itself. We go over the growth with you and settle what stays before any work starts. Our mini skid steer slips through a standard fence gate, and that opens up tight back yards in town.
